30 Nov 2009. St Andrew's day. Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, Ukraine, Russia, Scicily, Greece, Romania, the Diocese of Paranaque, Philippines, Amalfi, Luga (Malta) and Prussia, Diocese of Victoria, Army Rangers, Mariners, fishermen, fishmongers, rope-makers, singers and performers. Feels like a good, wide-ranging saint to have!
Before you set your website up, and long before you start writing anything, work out who your customers are. Get a very clear picture of them in your head (or even write a description). You don't have to know them all, but a composite picture is vital.
Questions to ask include: What is their age, their sex, their nationality? What do they read, where do they work and how do they socialise? What websites do they use and what kind of language is normal for them.
Know them. Sound like them. If you want them to like you, you have to be like them.
05 Nov 2009 and welcome to Bonfire Night. If you don't know, this is the day we Brits celebrate the fact that Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators were prevented from blowing up the Houses of Parliament and our King at the time. This happened in 1605.
Never say the human race matures or moves on. Not only are we celebrating something that happened more than 400 years ago, but the same thing is happening all over the world today!
One group of people think their cause, beliefs or convictions are the correct ones. They take it on themselves to inflict terror on others to prove the legitimacy of their beliefs.
Ho Hum! At least we get a fun night out as a result.
Make Money Online by Setting up Your Own Internet Business at Home
Using e-commerce to make money online is not simple. Nor is it easy. But you have the wonderful power to make it happen.
Hi. My name is Dee MacDonald and I am in business to help other people start their own business. Hopefully that will include you. A Small Business on the High Street is a No-No You can't afford to start a high street business. We all know that for ordinary retail and service businesses the vital thing for success is location, location, location. If enough people pass your front door, you might succeed.
But putting that business where lots of people would pass it would cost money you don't have. Getting Business Loans is Difficult
We all know that banks are finding it difficult to lend now. And in these hard times, all of us are reluctant to spend money we don't have by using credit.
Besides - if you have never run a business before, how can you know it will succeed?
Coming up with the Right Idea is Really Hard
The right business idea has always eluded you. Or you have great ideas, then find someone else had them first and made a fortune.
The Solution is the Internet - a Business Opportunity Waiting for You
The Internet is Completely Different 300 million English speakers were using the internet as of June 2009. And that is a cautious estimate. That is almost as many potential customers as Walmart has!
These figures are amazing enough, but the rate of growth is phenomenal. The absolutely fantastic thing is that you can potentially reach every one of these people.
How Does This Make it Easier to Make Money Online?
Think about that fantastic market available on the internet. Out of that huge number of people, how hard would it be to connect with others who are interested in the same things as you? You can do that from home, with a computer and broadband access to the internet.
We will show you how to connect with your potential customers without going through hoops or spending a fortune.
Set up Your Online Business From Home
If you have an business online and you work from home, your customers do not know or care what size your business is as long as you give them what they want and your service is great.

Coming up with the Right Idea Is Really Easy
A local shop on a high street has to sell what the local people want. Your internet business can offer something you are really passionate about because, there are almost certainly enough people out there amongst the 300 million (English speakers) who share your passion. And they are just one click away.
On our pages, in our free and low-priced courses and seminars, you will find the answer to all your questions.
How Do I Connect With Potential Customers?
On the internet people work with intent. They don't use their feet, their noses, ears or tongues. They aren't affected by heat or cold, rain or sun. They neither know nor care what your premises are like. Unlike the real city, there is no such thing as mean side streets online.
On the internet only one thing really counts - words. Words are the connective tissue online. Words are used as links from one document, one piece of data or information to another. Words are the question and the answer, the beginning and the end. Words, unlike premises are free. Words, unlike staff cause few problems. Words can be used by you to create the content your web site will need. Or you can buy the content cheaply from others who are selling their services online.
You don't have to be Shakespeare. Don't be frightened by the fact that you have to use words. You might have been useless at English at high school. It is not how good your prose is, but knowing what words to use and where and how to use them. And we can show you all of that.
So if you have a computer, internet access, time and the ability to write, you can connect with people who want to buy what you want to sell.
How do I Manage the Technical Side?
When I first started to look for a way of earning my living online, I was confused, intimidated and made to feel really quite stupid at times. It seemed like a whole new universe full of jargon I did not understand, programmes that left me feeling baffled and sales pitches that left me utterly confused.
If anyone had offered me a 'gentle introduction' I would have loved them for it. And as I worked my way through all the different stages I thought, if I would have loved it wouldn't other people?
